Pianist Ian Scarfe returns again for a program of classical chamber music, this time joined by violinist Roseminna Watson and clarinetist James Pytko. The concert will feature classics by Mozart and Debussy, as well as works by early-20th-century woman composers such as Rebecca Clarke and Amy Beach. Topping it off will be the premiere of a new composition by Roseminna Watson and a performance of “The Klezmer’s Wedding”, a raucous and wild expression of renewal and shared joy.
Watson, who lives in Providence, Rhode Island, attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she and Scarfe met and began performing together. She joins us here as part of a California tour that the duo have organized through the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival.
Pytko has appeared at the Sound Room several times, and performs regularly with Bay Area orchestras and chamber music ensembles.
Scarfe is also a regular performer around the Bay Area, known for his brilliant piano performances as well as for his insightful commentary charismatic stage presence.
